Improving our Environment.

Our Long Range Development Plan serves to transform campus communities into healthier, more equitable places to live and learn.

The Plan celebrates our unique historic, ecological, and cultural assets, while providing space to meet contemporary academic needs and strategic initiatives – all within a growing residential community in Santa Clara County. By evolving our built environment, we can address a range of issues including capacity, campus landscapes, mobility and accessibility, sustainability, and deferred maintenance projects. The vision for district-wide improvements to our environment is anchored around the following three big ideas.

Building Block One.

Building on Strengths.

Our passion for teaching and learning in a multilingual, multicultural community bolsters innovation.

We are building our future on a shared vision for whole child growth and development all the way through college and career readiness.

Our Long Range Development Plan supports our drive to meet the needs of contemporary learners by aligning with our MHUSD Values:

  • Promote Safety & Inclusion
  • Think Critically
  • Be Present
  • Focus on Achievement
  • Embrace Diversity
  • Nurture Community

To propel these values as our strengths, the Plan integrates strategies to improve our environment as a reflection of our values.

Building Block Two.

Enhancing Student Life.

Our enduring promise is for every campus to enrich, attract, and support new ways of teaching and learning for the future.

We are transforming our built environment to better reflect who we are as leaders in a diverse, changing, competitive world.

Our Long Range Facilities Plan is tailored to enhance student life by redesigning learning environments to bolster our academic mission for whole child, whole health development: critical thinking, collaboration, curiosity, and creativity — inside and outside. To guide our campus modernizations based on values and priorities, newly revised Design Guidelines provide an inclusive, collaborative approach to holistic planning.

Our commitment is to fostering healthy, prosocial communities embracing diversity to work towards our common goals.

Giving campus communities center stage, our local programs and partnerships continue to strengthen and grow.

Our Long Range Development Plan nurtures community and college, career, and civic life readiness by infusing a call for innovation into all aspects of campus life. For each learner to actualize their full potential, state-of-the-art learning environments will open doors for real world opportunities to discover, explore, and engage in unique passions and interests.
