Our

Learner-Centered.
Our Moonshot.
Future-proofing our built environment to empower all learners to achieve their unique potential.
Building on our 2017 Facilities Master Plan, our Long Range Facilities Development Plan is a collaborative, eight-month planning initiative to catalyze district action to modernize our schools and create opportunities to design innovative, vibrant learning environments.
Begun in March 2023, MHUSD launched an inclusive planning process to develop concrete actions the District can take over the next ten years to put us on track to meeting our academic mission.
Throughout the process, MHUSD collaborated with district leadership, educators, families and students, and built environment experts to develop actionable strategies the District will advance over the next ten years to achieve an equitable and just built environment.
Our Vision.

The Long Range Development Plan aligns our Mission, Vision, Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Goals, and programs our District can advance to build equitable environments, create opportunities for local, community-led innovative learning opportunities for all students.
The recommendations included in the plan are:
- A consistent look and feel of MHUSD schools to support our vision for learning;
- reflective of an inclusive approach to planning grounded in the needs of MHUSD residents,
- prioritizing projects to achieve equity district-wide for all learners to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Our Approach.
Two phases to guide our campus transformations incrementally over time.
Our first phase puts us on track to advance projects for safety & security, classroom modernizations, Transitional Kindergarten (TK) expansion. Vision projects for outdoor learning environments and improving exterior spaces for play and athletics are included.
The second phase brings new construction, parking expansion, drop off reconfiguration and improvements to Physical Education learning environments, while continuing expansion for the TK program.
